Shift timings: 1 p.m. – 10 p.m. (Work from office)
We are a forward-thinking mid-market information services and research firm poised for growth, serving clients in the financial services and insurance sectors. We are setting up an office in Pune, India to accommodate our growth needs. The team in India will be primarily made up of research and data associates and will grow to include staff in IT, marketing, graphics design, client success etc. We are seeking a leader who’s a researcher and people manager first and foremost but also has the operational chops to oversee the entire team in India and serve as the leader of the India office.
Experience:
- 5+ years of research experience in an information services/research firm (such as Gartner, Forrester, Everest etc.)
- 5+ years experience managing a small team.
- Experience working in an international organization a plus.
Education: Bachelor’s degree; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Area of Responsibility #1: Manage research and data team – Manage a team of ~10-12 early- career researchers, ensure quality and timeliness of their work, and act as their coach and manager responsible for their professional growth.
- Area of Responsibility #2: Act as defacto ‘country head’/office leader – Work with other teams across to hire and onboard staff in various areas of the company. Collaborate closely with our on-the-ground partner (Zeta-V) to make sure we are meeting our outcomes.
- Area of Responsibility #3: Collaborate cross-functionally – You will directly manage the research and data associates and will have dotted line management responsibilities towards the other staff in India. You will collaborate with the direct managers of those staff members (in Sales, Marketing, IT etc.) to make sure their team members in Pune are delivering consistently.
- Area of Responsibility #4: Champion a culture of strong project management and continuous learning – Lead from the front on effective adoption of new technologies (e.g., Gen AI) but also instill strong project management and data governance practices across the entire team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Team Management: Must enjoy managing and growing a team. Should have solid talent management experience.
- Project Management Excellence: Strong project management and communication skills, with experience in managing different types of research and consulting projects. Can prioritize, make tradeoffs and manage to deadlines.
- Collaborative Mindset: Proven ability to work across departments to foster a collaborative environment conducive to getting stuff done.
- Business acumen: Ability to quickly understand the business and its workflows to connect the day-to-day roles of India staff to overall company’s’ strategy.
- Research experience: Experience writing research reports utilizing a variety of secondary and primary data sources. Critical thinking and strong writing are a must.
